About The Summit

The Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit is an opportunity for governments, private sector, development partners and civil society to come together in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on January 27-28, to galvanize support for energy access like has never been done before with firm commitments from stakeholders to take concrete action toward the transformation of Africa’s energy sector and advance the ambitious goal of providing electricity access to 300 million people by 2030 – known as Mission 300.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group are co-hosting the Summit.

At the Summit, African Heads of State are expected to endorse the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, a shared commitment to energy reforms and transformative action across Africa. Several countries will present National Energy Compacts outlining targets and reforms tailored to their unique contexts. By mobilizing substantial development financing, technical expertise, and innovative partnerships, the Summit aims to lay the foundation for a people-centered energy transformation that fuels economic growth, expands opportunities, and lifts millions out of energy poverty.
